Example 4: Uncertainty Modeling
This example illustrates response surface uncertainty prediction for a model of aerodynamic performance of an X-38-like forebody configuration as a function of Mach number and pitch angle on reentry.
The data points (white triangles) are the results of Euler CFD runs.
The response surface shown in the following figure is colored using the uncertainty of the response surface.
In this example, the uncertainty on the data points is 0.0001.
At the front and back corners of the computational domain shown, it is seen that the uncertainty on the response surface is 300 times the initial uncertainty.
